WHY SANTOSHA?

The convergence of my heritage, roots, and personality traits inspired the perfect name, Santosha, perfectly capturing my passion for ‘Transforming Your Life, One Thought at a Time’ and my purpose of ‘Helping You Soar Through Life’.
Navigating the pain of broken relationships, financial and health challenges, and other adversities from my early twenties has been a transformative journey. I learned emotional resiliency and began managing stress, regulating emotions, adapting to change, and bouncing back from adversity more easily and gracefully. While navigating my circumstances, my circle of family, friends, and colleagues would often make the same comment. “No matter what, Sherin, you are always so Santoshi,” they would say. Santoshi, in my mother tongue, beautifully translates to the state of being ‘content’. This meaningful name has become a guiding principle in my work, inspiring others to find contentment and embrace their self-worth regardless of circumstances.
Santosha originates from Sanskrit, meaning contentment, satisfaction, and feeling enough. Interestingly, ‘tosha’ means ‘enough’ in Kiswahili, a language spoken in Kenya, my birthplace. This blend of cultural influences underscores my message of self-acceptance.
Santosha’s logo also has a special meaning. The African dove is symbolic of peace, adaptability, and navigating changes in turmoil because of its ability to change direction rapidly. The colours turquoise and gold represent the harmonious balance of air (freedom), water (flow and adaptability), and earth (stability) elements in our lives.

Sherin’s Story

My career as a Montessori Early Childhood Educator and especially as a Montessori Adult Instructor was grounded in a deep understanding of the spiritual development of the child and teacher. My personal life was pretty tumultuous from the age of 25 to 50. I worked on healing my physical ailments and was open to any healing modalities that came forth. As my mind and emotional health improved, so did my physical health. I also began seeing profound connections unfold between my work in Montessori education and my interest in mindset and spiritual growth.

When individuals from my circle began requesting mentorship and programs, I knew the universe was opening up a new path and calling! I had to follow it! Ultimately, I became inspired to support others in their journeys, helping them grow stronger in relationships, health, work, and within themselves. Santosha was born!

I began recognizing that both my paths as a Montessori Educator, Mindset and Heal Your Life Coach merged into one goal: for children and adults to be in their natural, normalized state of being, which is to be content, calm, happy, and satisfied. I found many of the challenges that adults face are deep-rooted in childhood experiences, subconscious patterns, and unfulfilled emotional or psychological needs.

My calling was clear! I was meant to help others evolve to a place of more clarity, peace, self-love, and joy. I asked for divine intervention, and lo and behold, the right training, certification, and support appeared in no time. They gave me the credibility to allow for this expansion of my career.
In the interim, individuals from all walks of life began seeking me out for support. Whether it was relationship, health, or situational-related issues, it was evident my tools and strategies were helping them all. My uncanny intuition of the human psyche and decades of experience working with adults and children created a unique offering of services. Requests for group and individual coaching came to my doorstep. I had no plans or goals, no intentions – only a legitimate child born from the ‘Divine Source’. I followed the universal plan as it unfolded, and here we are!

With Santosha workshops and programs, children and adults build stability in relationships, develop greater emotional resiliency, and make progress toward goals. Get in touch to learn how you can stop ruminating over negative thoughts and move forward with positivity and excitement.
